Most of the Christian world believes that Jesus is our Savior. But
Jesus, called the One Who will "save us", has three other titles
in the following text.
1) Other than our Savior, what three things is Jesus to us? (
Isaiah 33:22)
|
|
Who, in the God-head, is Isaiah 33:22 referring to? Can the titles:
King, Lawgiver, Judge AND Savior all refer to ONE individual? Let's
break it down title by title and see Whom the Bible says each title
refers to specifically.
2) Christ is our _______ (
Acts 4:10-12)
|
|
|
(In fact, the name "Christ" literally means "King", "Messiah" or
"Anointed One".)
|
|
4) Christ is our _____ (
John 5:22)
|
|
|
|
|
6. The Bible goes on to make it even MORE clear that the same Jesus
Christ, Who died on a hill called Calvary, is the SAME Lord, Who
gave the 10 commandments to Moses on Mount Sinai. Let's read what
Nehemiah has to say about the Lord, Who lead Israel in the wilderness.
(Keep in mind also that the Israelites had been forced by Egypt to
work 7 days per week - they had not been keeping the Sabbath
for centuries!)
The Bible does say that God made the Sabbath FOR someone, however.
Nehemiah 9:11-15
Nehemiah's description is full of meaning. As if seeking treasure,
we must dig a bit deeper to find the meaning. But first, let's find
the identity of this Divine Being, Who accompanied His people in the
famous exodus from Egypt. There are three members of the Godhead,
all three of Whom (according to Scripture) are Divine Deities. So,
is Nehemiah telling us about God the FATHER, God the SON, or God the
HOLY SPIRIT?
Nehemiah uses specific words to clue is in to the identity of this
Being. "And broughtest forth water for them out of the ROCK for their
thirst." Paul quotes Nehemiah's words, and gives us the straight
answer about Who this was.
1 Corinthians 10:1-4
Who was "that ROCK"?
