On June 20, 1987, Turkish government officials; scientists; a United States film crew; and Ron Wyatt, the discovering archaeologist; all gathered on the Ararat mountain side to dedicate Ron's discovery of a boat-shaped formation as the authentic Noah's Ark.

Located in the ancient kingdom of Urartu in eastern Turkey, the Ark and the surrounding mountainside are now part of a recognized national park.

Due to the mountain of evidence collected to verify the authenticity of this find, it is not practical to try to include it all on this website. For this reason, we will only summarize the 14 points which brought the Turkish government to exhonerate this boat-shaped artifact as THE authentic Noah's Ark.

1) The formation was positively identified as a boat by a number of skilled photogrammetry experts, who analyzed aerial photographs.

2) The formation received TWELVE YEARS of electronic and mechanical probing PRIOR to being positively identified as a boat. (The results from the metal detection surveys and the radar scans will be shown on this site soon).

3) Repeated chemical analysis of many different samples taken AT DIFFERENT TIMES, BY DIFFERENT PEOPLE AND ANALYZED AT DIFFERENT LABORATORIES; positively prove that this boat structure is composed of very ancient wood and metal.

4) Samples of the petrified wood have been taken from the boat. While the test results always verify that it is indeed petrified wood - there are no rings in the wood. This verifies the Bible statement that the earth was watered with a heavy dew prior to the flood. No rain- thus, pre-flood wood has no rings.

5) Ancient and medieval inscriptions (including the grave markers of Noah's family and the inscriptions found on the Ark's anchorstones) positively identify the boat as Noah's Ark.

6) The boat structure is 515 feet long by 138 feet wide (it is splayed out). These are the exact dimensions given by Moses in the Bible (considering he was educated in Egypt and would have been measuring with the Egyptian Royal Cubit)

7) It is located in the mountains of Urartu (Ararat) as specified in the Bible.

8) The boat is located at an elevation of 6300 feet ABOVE sea level. Therefore it is NOT possible that a "local flood" could have elevated a boat this high. However, it is BELOW the maximum water level that would result from ALL the water of our planet washing the earth's surface (7000-8000 feet).

9) It is located many miles from any present OR ANCIENT body of water that would support it. This fact defies any other explanation.

10) Its massive size and weight make it impossible for it to have been "trundled" (dragged) this distance from water.

11) Scientists have confirmed that this boat formation is the ONLY formation on earth of its kind. While the remains of other ancient boats are similar, they are much smaller in size.

12) Chemical analysis of the area surrounding the boat formation showed only normal traces of metallic oxides and organic carbon. However these substances were found in heavy quantities within the formation itself.

13) Train loads of petrified wood (all without rings) are present in the formation itself. But there is very little petrified wood to be found in all the rest of eastern Turkey.

14) Many ancient historians record that the remains of Noah's Ark were to be visited in this area.
